An army of undead has ravaged the countryside from Kaldor to Thardia. Thardia, its senate disbanded, stands under the leadership of Marshall Kronos and fights the undead alongside the forces of Kanday and Kaldor, uniting the three kingdoms against a single foe for the first time. But the dark empire of Rethem lays embroiled in political unrest, its dark churches working against the alliances and bringing death to men. The people of his lands have become concerned, begging the King for help. The King has sent messengers and the Lord has told them to go away and given no reason or hint for his actions. Finally, the King has had to call upon some of his nobles to mount an excursion to the Manor and find out once and for all what is going on behind the doors of Eldridge Manor.
