My professional competencies/interests include: I am president of Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous, a new gaming-focused con in Great Falls, MT (going into our 4th year!) and a former president of the Sandbaggers Game Club, the oldest independent gaming club in the US. I am former owner of 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming, current freelance roleplaying game designer/editor with credits with 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming, Purple Duck Games, Fantastic Gallery, Third Eye Games, Expeditious Retreat Press, Kobold Press (blog), Paizo Fans United, and Green Ronin Publishing. Currently working on projects for Purple Duck, John Brazer Enterprises, and EN Publishing. I have also had one piece of non-fiction published in logo

Robert Thomson was a co-founder and publisher of 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming, a Great Falls, MT-based roleplaying game publisher, from March 2009 to January 2013. Robert co-owned the company with his wife, Connie Thomson. Robert and Connie, have over 40 years combined experience as gamers in tabletop roleplaying games and they used that experience to bring quality new material to the hobby. In early 2013, 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming was acquired by Purple Duck Games.

In 2012, Robert became president of the newly formed Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous, a gaming-focused con in Great Falls, Montana, which debuted successfully in October 2012.

Robert's previous experience in the RPG industry includes co-authoring Western Seeds I and Western Seeds II for Expeditious Retreat Press in 2006. From 2002 to 2003 Robert was an assistant web master for the now-defunct Valar Project. In 2002 Robert was a website editor for legendary RPG artist Larry Elmore.

Connie & Robert have made their home in Great Falls, MT since May 2004. Connie is originally from McClusky, North Dakota and Robert is originally from Etowah, Tennessee.

Robert also authored the academic paper, "'This Wicked Family': A Biography of the Deschamps Family of Fort Union - Their Feuds, Fights, and Violent Demise" for the Winter 2004 issue (Vol.54, No.4) of Montana: The Magazine of Western History.

Robert also has 15+ years of experience with the National Park Service and Montana State Parks, where his expertise in history of the American West, with a focus on the fur trade, Lewis & Clark Expedition, and Indian tribes, was put to extensive use.
