New Business

Joker's Wild may be demolished prior to MisCon 28, which would necessitate restructuring where things are scheduled. At this point, we do not know the exact time frame. We need to keep this in mind and will act when we have more information.

Vice Chair/Marketing-

Any suggestions or ideas for December B&N Book Fair should be emailed to N.H.

Posters for the upcoming game day need to be put up soon. H.F. will contact M.G. regarding getting some printed up and A.F will pick them up.

M.L. asked that we look to get Volunteer posters created as well.

A poster proof advertising Winter Game day needs to be created by the first meeting in November so that can be prepared by Fall Game Day. J.T. discussed idea of generic Game Day poster that could be used. A.F. stated that their had already been discussions on having set Game Day posters for each of the Game Days and it is something we are looking into. Possibly will look into reusing previous posters.


B.H. is restructuring how costuming is done wants to create more pomp and circumstance. First thing is Re-branding from Costume Contest to Costume Pageant. It has already been changed on the website for the most part. B.H will contact K.S. to change the passage that still reads differently. Hallway Contest will still be called a contest.

In years past for the Hallway Contest we have had a 50/50 split for the winner and for MisCon. This year will be split between winner and our charity Camp Make-a-Wish.

Pageant winners will receive Cthulhu cash rewards depending on place in the amounts of $30, $25, and $20. There will also be a youth category. The winner will receive $20 cthulhu cash, and also a Best Of Theme Costume Winner who will receive $20 cthulhu cash.

Changes made to the Pageant will be that a entrant cannot enter the Hallway Contest and the Pageant with the same costume. It has to be completely different. Changing accessories does not constitute a new costume.

For Hallway Contest B.H. will meet the entrants and take their photos. Previous winners pictures will be hung.

For downtime while waiting for judging may possibly have a Gallery (previous winners sharing techniques, tips, and information on their costumes).

Tech Ops-

D.O. briefed concerning power-line network adapters. K.S. currently has them plugged in, but doesn't have access to a breaker so still testing.

Also doesn't have the operating system on the security cameras. This will get resolved. The laptop did not have charger. Location of charger will be looked into. M.F. has camera software.

Set up -

H.E. asked for results for B&N Book fair. Overall a success. We do not have the final numbers, but estimated $1,300 was made in profits and we would get 10% back.

Next time we will have a chance to do a walk through for the layout and implement feedback to make it a bigger event.

Film Festival/Auditor-

J.C. gave status update that audit is in progress. He has envelope drops to make and is still working out paypal numbers.

Collaboration and Brainstorming

Vice Chair to meet with Design- will contact design.

Theme Team met. J.F. created a Google Document devoted to theme. It is where all ideas will go so that they are in one place. Anyone is welcome to add ideas.

Chair met with those who are interested in discussing MisCon Security.

Meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM.
