    Panelists: William C. Riley

From Wiccan and Hulkling, to Batwoman, John Constantine, and many others, queer characters are cropping up all over. Occasionally, as superheroes, their mundane personas can serve as a form of drag in which they live performative lives as everyday people. This panel is an open discussion about queer characters and themes in comics and why it is important for these stories to exist.

  • Break Fri 3:50 - Sun 7:00
  • panel Sun 7:00 - 7:50 PM, Gender Identity in RPGs, Upstairs Programming 1 (259)
    Panelists: William C. Riley

A discussion of gender and sexuality in RPGs. Many game companies are challenging players to look beyond binary ideas of gender and sexuality to create unique characters. From Pathfinder’s recent Iconic Trans-character and Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition discussion of gender, RPGs and the community involved with them are demonstrating that they are open to non-heteronormative play options.
