Jeff Sturgeon

MisCon 30 Guest of Honor

Jeff is a northwest artist known for his award-winning paintings usually involving space in one form or another. He paints primarily with acrylics on either textured metal or canvas. His work has appeared on many book and magazine covers.

In a former life Jeff was a long time computer game artist/ art director most notably with Electronic Arts Seattle. He lives in the Cascade foothills of Washington with sons Corwin and Duncan.

Jeff is a northwest artist known for his beautiful award winning metal paintings usually involving space in one form or another. Jeff is also known for beautiful landscapes.

Jeff paints primarily with acrylics on either textured metal or canvas and his work has appeared on many book and magazine covers. Jeff is a guest and has been an AGOH at numerous cons around the country. Jeff is a member of the IAAA, the International Astronomical Artists Association.

Jeff's work has won numerous awards over the years but he's most proud of his Best of Show at NASFIC 2005, Judges Choice and 2 Childrens Choice awards LAcon4 WorldSF Con 2006 and a Judges Choice and Peoples Choice Best of Show Devention WorldSF Con 2008. Jeff was awarded one of the six coveted awards at Renovation, 2011 WorldSF Con in Reno, NV. Jeff has also been awarded Norwescon's Best of Show three times and this year he was awarded Peoples Choice Best SF for the 6th time.

    Of all the gin joints in the city, you had to wander into this one. Well, come on in, grab a seat, and find out what's in store for you at MisCon 30. We'll meet our GoHs, hand out some Golden Squid Awards, and have a little fun. Our seers, scientists, and sages tell us this will likely only run about half an hour unless the forces of chaos make us go longer. If the weather doesn't allow, we'll move into Ballrooms B&C in the hotel.

Join Jeff and some of the contributing authors as they discuss this exciting new project.
