MisCon 30 Attending Professional
Raised by jackalopes in the hills of the Palouse, Frog Jones managed to obtain a law degree through combination of trickery and the use of 500 cocktail umbrellas. He now runs the legendary Office of Public Defense in Mason County, Washington. On the side, he has conspired with his wife to write many books, including the Gift of Grace urban-fantasy series, in which he has planted subliminal messages that his alien masters can more readily control the minds of humanity.

Letís discuss the current trends in genre. Are we finally leaving grim dystopia behind? Is it possible for SF to imagine hopeful futures again? Is message fiction our future, or is there still room for silly fun? This will be an audience-participation panel where we talk about what people really want to see/read, as opposed to what the media and the big houses are focused on.
