Little did he know that years later he would end up agreeing to help work the hospitality room for MisCon 20. Then he took on managing the writer's workshop. Then MisCon Operations. Then Vice Chair, then Chair. Now he spends all his time planning MisCon, trying to be a good husband, and raising his funny daughter.

Carol Berg’s fifteen epic fantasy novels have won the Prism Award, the Geffen Award, and multiple Colorado Book Awards. Her duology, Flesh and Spirit and Breath and Bone, won the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature. Carol is a regular panelist/presenter at writers conferences and science fiction conventions and is a two-time Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Writer of the Year. All amazing to one who majored in math at Rice University and computer science at the University of Colorado to avoid writing papers. Her latest novel is Ash and Silver from Penguin Random House. A former software engineer, she calls writing “the hobby that ate my life.” She lives in Colorado.

Clay Cooper

An Army brat, Clay Cooper earned his Eagle Scout at 16 and graduated high school in Frankfurt, Germany.

He did a 4 year stint in the US Air Force as a mechanic on F-117 Stealth Bombers, then joined the US Army. He retired as an Infantry Platoon Sergeant First Class. He served on various combat deployments and peacekeeping missions on 4 continents.

He studied energy technology at the University of Montana. His interests include urban gardening, re-purposing things, and firearms. He gives panels at conventions as a modern armed combat advisor, specializing in helping writers and GMs make their stories more realistic.

My name is Benjamin Donnelly, and this will be my 22nd time at Miscon. I am currently an assistant professor of history at the University of Great Falls and Great Falls College-MSU, where I teach all kinds of historical subjects, mainly military history and including a course on anime and Japan. I was born in Georgia, but I've lived in Montana most of my life, and it's home. For the past decade or so, I've hosted the AMV Party at Miscon, as well as run the famous (or infamous) Destroy UM Battletech game. I'm also a longtime member of the Sandbaggers Game Club in Great Falls, and part of the ConCom for the Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous, as well as an avid--though amateur--cosplayer.

Hugh’s slide/video shows have been appearing at Conventions across North America and also overseas for over 29 years, including 11 world cons and 8 Dragon Cons. Guy L. Pace, born in Great Falls, MT, grew up throughout the Northwest. He served in the US Navy, and on the USS Newport News (CA-148), including combat operations in Vietnam in 1972.

A Navy journalist, as a civilian he worked primarily in community newspapers as a reporter, photographer, editor, and managing editor. He changed careers, getting into computer support, training, networking and systems, and information security. He retired in 2011 after more than 20 years working in higher education.

He lives with his wife, Connie, in Spokane, where he gets to spend time with children and grandchildren, and ride his Harley-Davidson.

My research specializes in bioarchaeology, which is the study of the biological and cultural processes of historic and prehistoric populations. Additionally, I participate in work related to forensic anthropology. I teach courses related to these subjects at the University of Montana, and have published in numerous academic journals as well as edited volumes. I received my Ph.D. at the University of New Mexico.
