Greetings! My name is James Hayes. I have many hobbies and Talents . In 2017 I will once again reprise my roles as Riddle Master and Brew master. I am currently working on becoming more talented at steam punk costuming and you may see something from me in this area this year. I ran the Quest last year and we are currently working on a new one for this year as well as other amazing projects. I love to sing and to play games. I will once again bring song books and participate in the Filk. I believe that an event can not grow without new Ideas ! So Bring yours !     Come in costume (or not) and join us for a brief stroll around downtown Missoula to ring in the start of MisCon and announce to the usual inhabitants of our fair city that we've arrived! We're going to walk down Higgins Street to Broadway, cross the street, then head back along Higgins and through Caras Park back to the hotel for opening ceremonies.

    Come try your hand at Filking! You don't have to participate, but you'll probably want to. What's filking? Its a sort of impromptu mishmash of folk or popular music with a science fiction/fantasy twist. Come see for yourself--it'll be fun.

    This panel will be a continuation of the last two years’ classes on how to take cheap alcohol and make it into a delightful beverage for serving at parties or given as gifts. This year we will focus on Lime Vodka, Kummel (An Arabian spice liqueur), and a Pear liqueur. I will provide you with a list of references and will demonstrate how to make these Liqueurs . Recipes will be provided and samples may be available to those who are at least 21 years old.

    Learn how to sell yourself to event coordinators and to take an existing idea and make it "Great!" We'll go over such things as what items and materials you should have for your panel, as well as how to outline panels, create a reference list of materials people can look up on there own for more information, and other props or materials you might need.

    In this panel you will learn how to design and create it from inexpensive Items. We will show you how to cut and pin and glue items together to make wonderful costumes. As well as how to create patterns on your own. Reference materials we be available.

    Rhyming Riddles in a Medieval style. Riddles based on Movies, History, Popular culture, Animals and other assorted trivia. A typical riddle has for rhyming lines. The riddle should be able to be solved by any one line but each line should contribute to the solving of the riddle. There will be instant prizes as well as 1st and 2nd place winners.
