Dakota Nyght is an upstart Missoula artist who never met a craft she didnít like. (Except knitting. Donít ask her to knit.) Other than knitting, sheís been creating art in some form or another since she first got her hands on her motherís scissors and fabric pile. From papercraft to crochet, jewelry-making to quilting, embroidery and costuming - sheíll try nearly anything. She also harbors an intense fascination with both the natural and fantasy world, and translates this into her art work.
Although Nashvillian by birth, she considers herself a die-hard Montana girl. She grew up in Kalispell, and graduated from the University of Montana's School of Journalism in 2006. She currently lives in Missoula with her ever patient and encouraging husband, two kids, three cats, and an assortment of friendly crows and magpies. Sure, sure, capes can get caught in doorways, wrap around rockets, or might get you sucked into a jet engine if you have the super ability to fly, but capes are cool. They billow in the wind, create ominous outlines, and give heroes visual heft. What does the cape of your dreams say about your alter ego? How can you turn that dream into reality? And most importantly, how do you avoid death by cape?
