  • panel Fri 3:00 - 3:50 PM, Prosthetics and Special Effects Makeup, Yellowstone
Moderator: Nina Alviar; Panelists: Nina Alviar, Meagan Scruggs

Sometimes your costume isn't complete until you add a few special effects. Need a bruise to complete your boxer? Want a great wound to really make your zombie stand out? Come get your questions answered and learn techniques to help finish your look.

  • Break Fri 3:50 - Sat 1:00
  • panel Sat 1:00 - 1:50 PM, Props - a Primer, Patio Tent (1)
    Panelists: Lily Oliver, Meagan Scruggs

Some costumes just aren’t done until you have the iconic accessory. If you need a wand, a weapon, or even a furry sidekick to finish your next costume, this will get you started in the right direction. Our propmakers will show you what’s fast and easy at home, and give you resources to find out more about advanced propmaking solutions once you’ve gotten the basics down.

  • panel Sat 2:00 - 2:50 PM, Cosplay Meet and Greet, Ballroom C
Panelists: BJ Allen-Prudden, Christine Barkl, Chris Blazer, Max Franicevich, Jessa Fuerst-Hinther (Ruby Riddle), Gail Glass, Lynn Martyn, Erika Noble (Eekie), Lily Oliver, Katie Rhodes, Meagan Scruggs

Don your costume and then come on down to meet everybody. Our panelists and pros (both current and past) will be rubbing shoulders with our one-of-a-kind cosplay community. This is a great time to get a preview of what’s planned for cosplayers this year, or get help with any last minute fixes or snafus with your costume.

  • Break Sat 2:50 - Sat 5:00
  • panel Sat 5:00 - 5:50 PM, Cosplay with Confidence, Monster Tent (1)
    Panelists: Sabrina Nystrom, Meagan Scruggs

In real life, Hollywood’s star heroes have personal trainers, custom diets, and fantastic genetics. We, however, have supreme confidence in ourselves and know that cosplaying is so much more than just looking like the character – it’s interpretation that character and bringing them to life. Come talk about having confidence when cosplaying a gender, race, body type, or alignment that does not match your own.

  • Break Sat 5:50 - Mon 1:00
  • panel Mon 1:00 - 1:50 PM, Wigs Are Friends, Yellowstone
    Panelists: BJ Allen-Prudden, Meagan Scruggs

Wigs, the struggle can be very real. But with a little knowledge, you’ll be able to style your wigs in gravity-defying ‘dos, keep them on in a hurricane and adjust the same wig to portray hundreds of characters. Let’s discuss common wig woes, how to avoid them, and put your fears about using wigs for costuming (or just a hot date) to rest.
