Matthew E. Yetter is an epic fantasy author, stage-trained actor, lifelong storyteller, and independent publisher whose debut novel, The Forbidden Spire, launches at MisCon 40.

A world traveler who has visited every inhabited continent, Matthew draws inspiration from real cultures, landscapes, architecture, and history to shape the lived-in world of Necsis, the setting of his ten-book epic fantasy series, The Infinite Saga—a story more than forty years in the making.

His fiction blends mythic consequence, emotional realism, and immersive worldbuilding, exploring the cost of power, the weight of impossible choices, and the ways ordinary people respond when thrust into extraordinary circumstances. The opening novel, The Forbidden Spire, launches The Infinite Conflict trilogy and introduces readers to Necsis, a fractured world shaped by Magic, Mind, and Technology.

Matthew is also an advocate for maintaining professional-quality standards in independent publishing and for the thoughtful, ethical use of AI as a creative support tool. In his own workflow, AI assists with ideation, organization, developmental analysis, and marketing support—but the storytelling itself remains human-authored, shaped by years of planning, revision, and collaboration with professional editors and artists. He believes the future of creative work lies not in replacement, but in responsible partnership between creators and tools.

When he isn’t writing, Matthew can usually be found cuddling with his cats and a good book, hiking western Montana, haring off to a new part of the world, rewatching Babylon 5, playing Frosthaven, running a D&D campaign—now in its third year—or explaining to curious readers why the map in his books has clouds.
