Magician, writer, costumer and general herder of cats, kids and mystic beings, Madame Azira brings a perspective born from years of experience in many fields.
Performing with Jones Family Magic, Azira explores the eerie and mysterious with a magical and sometimes dangerous flair. Balancing between the unexplainable and the scientific is her stock in trade, from stage performance to close-up tabletop magic to science-based life readings that reveal the past and give tools for the future. She risks that which the younger would not dare and seeks and shares the knowledge only the advanced can find.
Azira has managed and written for a number of online fanfic and roleplay groups, generating characters and plots galore. A writer of fiction and poetry, she has professionally taught creative writing, editing, character and plot generation in diverse educational settings, in addition to having acted, directed and worked in technical theater, and radio.
Historical and fantasy costuming and embellishment have a magic of their own, which Azira thoroughly enjoys and loves to teach. Fiber arts and needlework are some of her passions, especially embroidery, knitting, lacemaking, Victorian tatting, and hand spinning.
Madame Azira is a charter member of the Butte and southwest Montana Steampunk Association, and a member of the Society of American Magicians, the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the Fellowship of Christian Magicians, the SCA and The Helena Weavers and Spinners Guild.
