Sierra Dawn Holt

MisCon 39 Attending Professional

Sierra Stoneberg Holt has a doctorate in botany that she earned in the Czech Republic. (All her classes were in Czech, but she got to defend her dissertation in English.) She's using it on a 100-year-old family ranch where she gets to practice useful skills like hand milking cows, making cheese, monitoring ecosystem health, handling cattle on horseback, producing electricity, and teaching.

Sierra Stoneberg Holt has a Botany PhD from the Czech Republic. She is the author of a bilingual fantasy, Písně větru, two photo books, Prairie Sunrise/Prairie Roots: My Montana Ranch Life, and a research article, “Reinterpreting the 1882 Bison Population Collapse”. On a ranch 50 miles south of “The Middle of Nowhere” (according to the CDC), established by her great great grandmother and great grandparents over 100 years ago, she hand milked cows, made cheese, herded cattle on horseback, studied vegetation, and raised two children. She has taught classes and seminars from pre-K to PhD.

Sierra Dawn Holt is not yet scheduled for any programming.
