MisCon Art Show and Art Auction
MisCon is not yet taking art show applications for MisCon 39. Please check back to see when the art show will be open. You can also subscribe to our announcement feed or follow our Facebook page for updates.
About the Art Show
MisCon embraces many mediums and many manifestations of art, everything in the show has a strong science fiction, fantasy, or alternative reality blend. If you, or anyone you know, has been looking for the perfect piece of geeky art for their home, this is absolutely the best place to find it.
Some of the art on display is just available for oohs and ahhs. (Darn.) But most of the art on display is for sale - some of it can be bought directly, some can be bid on via the silent auction (Friday-Sunday) and some of it will be auctioned off late Sunday during the live auction. Art that doesn't sell is available on Monday, but don't count on favorite pieces sticking around!
If you see something you like, and you aren't sure what to do, MisCon staff is available to answer questions and help you bid on or purchase available pieces.
Art Room Rules
Art on display and sold in the art auctions may contain adult themes and/or be graphic, and these pieces will not be hidden or segregated. MisCon makes every effort to display adult artwork in a tasteful manner so patrons with small children may self-censor.
Most art, by nature, is fragile. We ask that patrons do not touch or handle art on display. Please only take postcards, bookmarks, and small business cards that the artists have provided for promotional purposes.
Please also consider the Art Show as a small museum exhibit. No photography or video recording is allowed.
While the art show is not a library, we do ask that patrons of the art show are respectful and do not disrupt those viewing the art.
Buying Art
Art is for sale in the MisCon silent auction from the time the art room opens on Friday until it closes on Sunday. All pieces of art with 3 bids from the silent will then available in the live auction Sunday evening. Art remaining with no bids after the live auction Sunday evening is then available for direct sale Monday.
